Wintech Releases the W4100 Developers Kit - a Low Cost Alternative to the DLP® Discovery 4100

Anaheim, CA, October 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Wintech Digital Systems Technology Corp., a Texas Instrument’s Authorized DLP® Design House and TI DSP Third Party Network Member, announces the release of its Wintech W4100 developers kit. The Wintech W4100 kit is a drop in replacement for the Texas Instrument’s DLP® Discovery D4100 kit, offering the exact same function and form factor as the D4100 while providing a 20% savings. The Wintech W4100 is a dual purpose DLP® electronics controller that can be used both as a developer’s kit and in serial production systems where end users require a lower priced electronics solution, relative to the D4100. The Wintech W4100 is compatible with all of the DLP® Discovery D4100 Digital Micromirror Devices (DMD) including the 0.55” and 0.7” XGA and the 0.95” 1080p. These DMDs can be optimized for visible, ultraviolet, and near IR reflectivity. The Wintech W4100 is capable of over 32,000 binary frames per second (XGA) and 24,000 binary frames per second (1080p). The Wintech system is compatible with existing software/firmware that has been developed for the D4100 and also the NSP-4.0 High Speed Interface system. The Wintech W4100 is ideal for applications such as maskless lithography (DLP® lithography), DLP® structured light, 3D display, DLP® rapid prototyping, and DLP® spectroscopy.

Texas Instrument’s DLP ® Discovery series is a spatial light modulator (SLM) solution that allows for precise timing control of a micromirror array containing up to two million individually addressable mirrors. This level of control coupled with high reflectivity throughout a broad spectral range has made DLP® the most widely adopted SLM on the market today and is available on both the DLP® Discovery and DLP® LightCommander platforms.
