Phuket.Net – Attend the Annual Phuket International Sportfishing Tournament in November
Phuket.Net is pleased to announce the dates for the Annual Phuket International Sportfishing Tournament. This internationally renowned competition will take place at Chalong Bay between the 24th and the 26th November, with registration taking place on 23rd November, from 6:00pm onwards, at a location to be announced.
Phuket, Thailand, October 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Tamarind Bar & Grill in Chalong will be the site for the weighing station and prizes will be awarded there on the final evening.
This year there will be more of a fun element integrated into the event, with teams allowed to showcase their individual fishing skills and the PIST rules have been adjusted to reflect this in the scoring system. The team scoring the highest number of points over the three-day team-fishing event will be awarded top prize in the tournament. There will, in addition, be other prizes for the team to catch the largest fish by weight in each category of eligible species and a special prize for the team to release the highest number of Billfish.
With trophy prizes in seven categories, as well as Lady Angler and Junior Angler categories, there will be plenty of scope for competitors.
There are a range of Phuket charter boats available for hire during the tournament.
The entry fee for a maximum of four anglers will be 12,000THB, with an "early bird" fee of 10,000THB.
Boats set off at 8:00am and must return to Chalong Pier by 7:00pm on the 25th and the 26th November. A Tournament Marshall will oversee events, verify departure and return times and confirm weighted in times.
