Orbus Exhibit & Display Group Raises Funds for the Andrew Grene Foundation via a "Stache for Cash" Contest and London to Paris Bike Ride
Bolingbrook, IL, October 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Orbus Exhibit & Display Group, a member of the P3 Group, which is one of the world’s largest suppliers of display, exhibition and event solutions, held a company fundraiser in September benefiting the Andrew Grene Foundation (AGF). The company’s male employees were encouraged to grow mustaches for a month and solicit sponsors to raise funds.
AGF is a charity dedicated to supporting the people of Haiti through education, loans and building projects. P3 Europe CEO, Tim Perutz, co-founded AGF in honor of his close friend Andrew Grene, who passed away in the 2010 Haiti earthquake while working with the United Nations.
Employees of Orbus who participated in ‘Stache for Cash’ contest grew their mustaches in an effort to raise funds for the foundation’s first project, The Andrew Grene High School in Cite Soleil, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The school opened its doors August 31, 2011 and will accommodate up to 250 14-18 year olds in six classrooms.
“It was wonderful to see our team come together to support such a worthy cause,” said Giles Douglas, Orbus Exhibit & Display Group President and CEO.
Simon Perutz, a close friend of Grene’s, as well as North American CEO of the P3 Group, participated in a three day bike ride from London to Paris that also raised money for the school. Simon, along with Michael Lyons, and Mike Hennel made the 234-mile journey and raised over $20,000.
“The support we received from our sponsors was nothing short of amazing,” said Perutz. “It was a fantastic journey.”
