Island Montessori Academy Announces New Enrichment Offering for Students by My Gym®
Marco Island, FL, October 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Island Montessori Academy announces a new physical enrichment program offered to students ages 3-8 and developed by local children’s fitness center, My Gym of Naples.
The students at IMA participate in a fitness program designed to build strength, balance, coordination, self-awareness, and team work. Beginning gymnastics skills, games and team building activities are introduced to the children, with the use of music, dance and special props like hula hoops.
“We wanted to provide a fun and healthy program for the kids. They look forward to this every week,” says Lisa Nguyen, IMA founder and Head of School. In addition to having fun, the students learn important social skills like communicating in a group and listening to directions. “These are skills that can help them in the classroom and life,” says Nguyen.
My Gym brings their mobile program to the school once a week, along with the mats, bolsters, and extra props. Two classes are offered by age group; 3-4 year olds and 5+. My Gym owner, Carly Mankiewicz, who teaches the mobile class, also offers a variety of programs at her Naples location. For more information about My Gym programs and special discounts for families of IMA, including birthday parties, call (239) 431-6499.
