OnOn Shipping Expands Its Fully Online Asia-Europe Services
Copenhagen, Denmark, October 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- OnOn Shipping today unveiled a dramatic expansion of its unique online FCL container services portfolio. The number of port-to-port combinations increases from 6 to almost 100 and now covers shipments from all main Chinese ports as well as Busan, Singapore and Port Kelang into all the larger north European ports.
OnOn Shipping has been testing its systems and procedures across a small number of ports for more than six months. It has therefore only been possible to ship from the ports of Hong Kong, Yantian and Chiwan to Hamburg and Rotterdam. “We wanted to make sure that we were technologically and organizationally ready, meaning that our systems and procedures could handle the shipments with the required level of quality and efficiency before we took it to the next level,” says OnOn Shipping CEO Thorsten Boeck.
“We have learned a lot during this period and made a number of adjustments. We now feel comfortable that we can handle the higher number of port combinations and cargo volume that was the intention from the beginning,” continues Venture Partner Ken Lyon.
This is only the first step in a planned number of expansions. In the coming weeks and months OnOn Shipping will be adding the Eastbound services for the current port combinations and subsequently, services from Asia to and from the Mediterranean are planned. Further into the future lies plans for adding services for India, Middle East, Australia and Africa.
Port Coverage as of 24 October 2011
From: Chiwan, Dalian, Hong Kong, Nansha, Ningbo, Port Kelang, Pusan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Shekou, Singapore, Tianjin, Xiamen, Yantian.
To: Hamburg, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Dunkerque, Felixstowe, Southampton
