William Peace University to Offer Men’s Sports Starting Fall 2012
NCAA Division III University to Introduce Men’s Basketball, Cross Country, Golf Teams for 2012 Academic Year
Raleigh, NC, October 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- William Peace University (http://www.peace.edu), a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced the offering of men’s basketball, cross country and golf beginning in fall 2012. A member of the USA South Athletic Conference and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, the university will begin with three male sports teams and will integrate men’s soccer and baseball in subsequent years.
William Peace University currently offers six women’s sports – basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. The addition of the men’s sports will be in conjunction with the university’s transition to admit male students to its day program which also begins fall of 2012. Peace began offering coeducational evening courses through the William Peace School of Professional Studies in 2009.
