New Music Magazine Takes Unusual Journalistic Approach

A new digital music journal called Gascan Magazine hopes to change the way music is reported on. Their solution? Curate the works that they love by featuring a wide-range of interviews, news and articles on every music genre.

Portland, ME, October 26, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A new music website called Gascan Magazine hopes to light a wick under music journalism by focusing on positive music reporting. Interviews, news and even reviews will be based on the writers' love of the artist.

"We don't have an editor to answer to. We're not catering to a particular listener," says one of the creators Troy Keiper. "The idea was that we would focus on the things that we'd found. We're not rock critics. We're just music fans."

The new magazine kicked off October 21st with an exclusive interview with Australian singer Mama Kin by Evan Kanarakis. Also in the issue, Irish writer Ciarán Reinhardt waxes on the loss of B sides in the record industry and The Provincial Archive, a Canadian indie band, impresses Keiper with their latest release.

Gascan will go mobile in 2012 with an inclusion in the iTunes Newsstand.
