Status Solutions Features Situational Awareness Solutions at International Facilities Manager’s Association (IFMA) World Workplace 2011
IFMA members and World Workplace conference attendees will have the opportunity to learn how SARA can help their facilities prevent loss of life, property, business and convenience at booth 1902.
Charlottesville, VA, October 25, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Status Solutions, provider of the Situational Awareness and Response Assistant (SARA), will feature its enhanced location capability - SARA’s Positioning System (SPS), and desktop notification solution - SARA’s eMessenger, at this week’s International Facilities Manager’s Association (IFMA) World Workplace 2011 conference in Phoenix, AZ, in booth 1902.
IFMA members and World Workplace conference attendees will have the opportunity to learn how SARA can help their facilities prevent loss of life, property, business and convenience. The robust alerting engine has enabled hospitals, schools, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, courthouses, senior living communities, etc. throughout North America to deliver life safety assurance, security monitoring, environmental awareness and mass notification. Two of SARA’s innovative capabilities will be on display during next week’s conference in Phoenix, AZ.
SARA’s Positioning System (SPS) is patent pending (US Patent Application No. 12/690,443) technology that enables enhanced location support for mobile devices within the Inovonics EchoStream RF Infrastructure. SPS is of a one-of-a-kind positioning capability, enabling SARA to serve as a facility’s real-time locating system (RTLS).
SPS is the process of SARA automatically creating a multi-dimensional model of the EchoStream RF Infrastructure on any property. The model consists of both fixed devices such as wall mounted panic buttons, motion sensors, smoke detectors, etc. and virtual points of interest within the facility or campus. When a person activates their mobile device such as a panic button, SARA mathematically compares the location of the mobile person in question to the model, and provides the closest positions.
Through SPS (a vector mapping technology), SARA provides highly accurate location data. The location information provided to staff shows the proximity of the mobile user to a fixed device or virtual point of interest which can be as accurate as to the room. This level of accuracy is not available with traditional RF based systems, and has proven to help improve response times. For example, a facility that already had a good average response time to their alarms was able to reduce it by 45 – 60 seconds when using SPS.
Through SARA’s eMessenger, users can leverage existing technology to receive emergency and non-emergency alerts from SARA on their Windows based computer desktops. SARA’s eMessenger enhances the centralization of alerts while extending the ability to communicate to potentially thousands of screens throughout a hospital, school, government office, corporate office, etc. Future versions will support alerts (both video and text) to PCs, mobile devices and tablets. Native support for iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, etc. will enable users to have better control over delivery of alerts.
