For the First Time in Chicago, a Film on Governor Adlai Stevenson in the Global Wake-Up Film Festival

Governor Adlai Stevenson’s UN and Political Legacy and His Lasting Contribution to World Peace is Being Heard

Chicago, IL, October 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A film on Governor Adlai Stevenson’s UN and political legacy and his lasting contribution to world peace is being heard for the first time in Chicago at the Global Wake-Up Film Festival presented by UNA-USA Greater Chicago Chapter, and hosted at Columbia College Chicago. It covers presentations by seven of his former patriots at the US Mission to the United Nations New York City’s to the United Nations on November 3, 2009. It will be available for viewing at 12:15 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 in room B/C on the 8th Floor of Columbia College Chicago, 1104 S. Wabash Avenue.

The film screening will be followed by a Q&A session hosted by Stevenson’s eldest son, Adlai Stevenson, III former US Senator of Illinois and Judge Alvin Liebling, author of the recent volume entitled, Adlai Stevenson’s lasting legacy. Moderator for that symposium is former UN Ambassador, Thomas R. Pickering who helped President H. W. Bush assemble the consortium of States and connection with the Quait invasion in the early 1990s.

The Global Wake-Up Film Festival will be held in the heart of Chicago’s film district, Film Row Cinema at Columbia College Chicago on Friday, October 28, & Saturday, October 29, 2011. The Global Wake-Up Film Festival is a wake-up call for global justice, equality and the end of disparity on both the national and local fronts. The film festival will serve as a guide to fully consider public involvement towards an advantageous, effective and positive outcome of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals.
