Chicago Youth Ready to Perform in 2011 Violence Stops Here Showcase Finale

Chicago, IL, October 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- XtraMedium Communications LLC, a pioneer in New Media for Community Development & the 2011 Violence Stops Here Committee have announced the finalists to perform in the 2011 Violence Stops Here Showcases in November 2011.

Performance Finals will take place at Chicago Public School’s Lindblom Math & Science Academy 11.3.11, Phillips High School 11.4.11, and Simeon Career Academy 11.10.11. The winners will receive cash scholarships of $2,000, $750, and $250 respectively. Finalist entries can be viewed at ViolenceStopsHere.com

The 2011 Violence Stops Here series is a community-driven campaign that began in June 2011 with online video submissions by youth from Chicago’s Chatham, Englewood, and Grand Boulevard communities. The top entrants will compete live for the cash scholarships.

The Violence Stops Here finale at Simeon will also include the dedication of a portrait of NBA 2011 MVP Derrick Rose at Simeon created by the VSH Showcase host, JustFlo.
