Rock, Roll & Remember: ArtVision Exhibitions Announces Rare Sale of Photographs by Rolling Stone Photographer Robert Altman

Boca Raton, FL, October 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Over 100 one-of-a-kind, photographic exhibition panels, based upon iconic photographs immortalized both in pictures and commentary by Robert Altman, the legendary photographer from Rolling Stone magazine’s early heyday will go on special sale to the public at ArtVision Exhibitions studio in Boca Raton starting Friday, October 28 through Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Those who purchase a piece will receive a VIP invitation to an intimate “meet and greet” with Robert Altman on November 10, courtesy of ArtVision Exhibitions.

The large format photographic panels, some measuring 8 feet high by 8 feet wide, were previously on view in Manhattan filling all 39 windows at Macy’s in Herald Square and on the grounds of the 1969 Woodstock Festival at The Museum at Bethel Woods. Images include iconic 1960s figures such as: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Tina Turner, Jerry Garcia, George Harrison, Timothy Leary, Allen Ginsberg, Jim Morrison, Pete Townsend and Dennis Hopper.

“My favorite image has to be Tina Turner’s legs taken in October 1969 at the Gold Rush Festival in Stockton, California. Measuring 8 feet high, it would certainly be the topic of conversation hanging in a trendy south Florida residential loft,” said Victoria Ann Rehberg, president of ArtVision Exhibitions, LLC who has over the past 12 years fabricated and loaned over 100 major exhibits to museums worldwide, viewed by an estimated 5 million museum-goers. “The photographic panels are absolutely one of the most unique holiday gifts you could give that special someone. Art collectors can also order signed silver gelatin photographs,” Rehberg added.

Robert Altman is an internationally acclaimed photographer who studied under Ansel Adams and is best known as a chief photojournalist for Rolling Stone magazine. His work has appeared in NBC, PBS, MTV and VH1 television, Vanity Fair, Entertainment Weekly, Mojo, The New York Times, People, The San Francisco Chronicle, The San Francisco Examiner, The Smithsonian Institution and will soon be on the runway at Paris Fashion Week donning the collections of celebrated fashion designer Manish Arora.

Altman’s photographs depict an affectionate tribute that juxtaposes tie-dyed hippies in the Haight-Ashbury against history-making photos of huge rock concerts and peace marches. They portray the youth revolution in full swing--the writers, musicians, movie stars, organizers, and political leaders that made it happen. Aside from some of the most recognizable photographs from the 1960s, many of the photographs are rare or little-known, providing freshness and immediacy to a revealing overview of a tumultuous decade. A cultural upheaval in pictures!
