Sanderson Ford Honors Heroes Through Veterans Day Celebration
Join Sanderson Ford and Return with Honor to celebrate Veterans Day and honor past, present, and future heroes November 7-12.
Phoenix, AZ, October 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Join Sanderson Ford in celebrating past, present, and future heroes this Veterans Day in Phoenix, Arizona. The Ford dealership is teaming up with Return With Honor to hold the second annual celebration honoring veterans November 7th through the 12th.
The celebration will kick off on Monday, November 7th at 10:00 AM with the Introduction of Colors, the National Anthem, and the Pledge of Allegiance. Honored guests will include Medal of Honor recipient Rudy Hernandez, Lt. Joe Torillo (FDNY, retired and 9/11 survivor), Dignitaries from the City of Glendale, and KFYI personality and Goldstar Family Member Mike Broomhead.
Future Heroes Day will be held Tuesday, November 8th at Sanderson Ford. Students from Palo Verde Middle School will receive a fire department escort to Sanderson, where an honor ceremony, presentation, and demonstrations, including flag retirement and folding, will take place. Lunch will also be provided to the students.
On Thursday, November 10th, the March for Heroes will begin at Sanderson Ford and end at Resthaven Park Cemetary, where a chapel ceremony will begin at 10:00 AM and a gravesite ceremony will take place at 10:30. The gravesite ceremony will include posting of the flag, a 21-gun salute, taps, and a performance by the Miracle of America singers.
Veterans Day is on Friday, and all activities will be at the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade.
Sanderson Ford will be hosting a non-judged Cruise In on Saturday. All makes and models are welcome, and space will be provided for 200 cars. There will be a $10 donation to Return With Honor at the gate, and a dash plaque and goodie bag will be provided. A 50/50 drawing and multi-prize raffle will also take place. The Starliner Diner will be open and serving their car show menu during the cruise in, and spectator parking will be available across the street, on the corner of 51st Avenue and Maryland. From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, a special ceremony and presentation honoring Arizona’s Fallen Heroes will take place.
