New 4-Slide Acquisition Increases Cast Product’s Large Part Capacity
Cast Products, Inc. continues to build and upgrade their high-volume Zinc cast parts production by increasing their equipment list to 42 machines.
Norridge, IL, October 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Cast Products, Inc. adds major new capacity to their high-volume zinc cast parts production with the addition of a new Techmire model 88NTX 4-slide precision die casting machine. This top-end model is Moog controlled for closed-looped process monitoring and fitted with an instant camera system to detect proper parts ejection, protecting the tool from possible damage.
For the New Product Designer, the model 88NTX offers a larger nominal die size of 8 x 10 inches and can produce zinc alloy parts up to one pound. The advantage of Zinc die casting is the precision net-shape, high-volume production capability the high pressure, hot-chamber process yields. Furthermore, the 4-slide process can produce complex part geometries at close tolerances with consistent part quality, often eliminating the need for secondary machining operations.
Cast Products’ tooling engineers can design multiple cavity molds for high volume production in this larger machine, offering tremendous cost savings over traditional single cavity tooling. Proper tool design produces flash-free parts with in-die degating, keeping secondary finishing at a minimum and further reducing costs.
As design engineers consider structural materials and their associated costs, there are a number of zinc alloys available from Cast Products offering variations in hardness, impact and tensile strength. To determine if your parts can benefit from the qualities of zinc die casting, contact Cast Products at 708-457-1500.
