First Rehab Life's Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive: November 1-21
First Rehab Life calls upon brokers, agents, and community to help fight hunger.
Great Neck, NY, October 29, 2011 --(PR.com)-- First Rehab Life (The First Rehabilitation Life Insurance Company of America) has launched a corporate campaign dedicated to the fight against hunger on Long Island. Partnering with Island Harvest, Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization, First Rehab Life is opening its doors this November to host a Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive benefiting Island Harvest.
Since First Rehab Life has always sold insurance products exclusively through independent insurance producers, the company is deeply rooted in the Long Island-based insurance broker community. This strong partnership became the inspiration for the food drive. “Metaphorically speaking, First Rehab Life and brokers go together like peanut butter and jelly. So, we wanted find a way to give back to our community while preserving the symbolic meaning of peanut butter & jelly: a natural joining of two good things to make something even better,” explains Katrin Atienza, AVP Marketing and Planning.
First Rehab Life would like to expand the potential of making a difference beyond the insurance community – and encourages all of Long Island to participate. “We invite everyone to join our fight against hunger by liking our facebook page and attending our online Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive event. We will post our donation progress, photos, and more throughout the drive,” says Stephanie Lipari, Marketing & Creative Coordinator.
David Epstein, VP Sales, adds, “This campaign allows us to get involved with our broker community and our local community on a different level. Tough economic times make supporting charities more difficult, yet more necessary than ever. Please join us in our efforts to support Island Harvest.”
The company created an event section on their newly launched facebook page and encourages everyone to follow donation updates at facebook.com/FirstRehabLife. Invitations to participate in the Peanut Butter & Jelly Drive are on their way to First Rehab Life’s producers in the Tri-State area.
The company will round up donations at their corporate headquarters in Great Neck; walk-in donations are welcome between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (600 Northern Blvd. 3rd floor (Ste. 310) Great Neck, NY 11021).
Other non-perishable food donations and monetary donations (in form of checks payable to Island Harvest) are welcome as well – details are available on First Rehab Life’s facebook page.
