Queens NYC Rehab Center Invites Public to Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness at MasquerWalk A Thon by CFSCGOnline.com
The Queens Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare, a short term rehab institution managed by the Centers for Specialty Care Group, is inviting the community to join its annual MasquerWalk A Thon for Breast Cancer awareness.
Whitestone, NY, October 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Goblins and ghouls alike are invited to visit the Queens Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011 to attend the annual MasquerWalk A Thon, a free event for Breast Cancer awareness. Located in front of the long and short term rehab facility at 157-15 19th Ave. in Whitestone, N.Y., the MasquerWalk A Thon will begin at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a free party for all ages featuring refreshments, rides, prizes, and more.
"The MasquerWalk A Thon is a chance for Queens Center residents, family members, and staff, in addition to local politicians, students, neighbors, and attendees representing the American Cancer Society, to come together to support a terrific cause. We'll be giving away a prize to everyone who shows up in costume, so we're encouraging members of the community to bring their hats, masks, capes, and brooms," said Kenneth Rozenberg, the CEO of the Centers for Specialty Care Group, an NYC nursing home network which encompasses the Queens Center.
Providing a little something for everyone, the MasquerWalk A Thon will also include face-painting, raffles, arts and crafts activities, and live music. Representatives from the American Cancer Society will be in attendance to support the cause and provide information on additional ways to get involved in the fight against cancer.
Part of Centers for Specialty Care Group, a comprehensive NYC rehab center network, the Queens Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare features a renowned hip and knees program, as well as 24-hour skilled nursing and a dedicated subacute short term rehab staff. The subacute program is an alternative to full-day (acute) rehabilitation, providing support to patients in recovery from orthopedic injuries and other intensive conditions, in addition to patients that are wrapping up their rehabilitation and have only specialized training to complete. For added convenience, the Queens Center provides a free transportation program for friends and family members on weekdays.
Along with the Queens Center, Centers for Specialty Care Group offers a number of long and short term rehab facilities in the New York area, from the nearby Bronx nursing home locations on Grand, Underhill, and Tomlinson Avenues to the tranquil Rome and Chittenango Centers in Madison and Oneida County.
