Cranston, RI, October 30, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Electro Standards Laboratories announces the Model 7810 8-to-1 HD-15 Switch with 10/100 Base-T LAN Access. The Model 7810 enables sharing a single port HD-15 interface device connected to the COMMON port among eight other devices connected to the Channel 1-8 ports. Local access is via front-panel pushbuttons. Remote access can be accomplished by a 10/100 Base-T connection.
Utilizing the user-friendly remote graphical user interface (GUI) is simple. To connect the switch from a computer having access to the LAN to which the Model 7810 LAN port is connected, simply launch a standard Web browser and type in the appropriate IP address. Java JRE 6.0 or higher installed on the PC is required to run this GUI. If the JRE is installed, the Java Applet will be automatically uploaded from the switch upon connection. If not, the user must install the Java Runtime Engine.
The default password should be changed to a secure password as soon as the user first connects to the unit. Once logged in, the user can complete the following functions: change the switch position; lockout control of the switch’s front panel; change the login password; and re-configure the switch’s IP address. This is all accomplished with simple point and click operation.
Pins 1 through 12 of the HD15 interface are switched. The Model 7810 is transparent to data speed and format. The switch setup and configuration access is limited by password protection. Front panel LED’s display switch position and power status. All switched signals are passed via copper contact relays that maintain their position and continuity in the event of power loss.
The switch is housed in an attractive anodized black box packaging that provides EMI/RFI shielding. Custom length HD15 cables are available from Electro Standards for switch installation. An optional wide range power module, Catalog No. 517277, that is both CE and UL listed is available. This module features 100VAC/240VAC, 50Hz/60Hz in place of the standard 115VAC or 120VAC power module thus equipping the Model 7810 for operation worldwide.
This switch is offered in a rack-mount configuration that measures 19” W x 3.5” H x 10” D (48.3 x 8.9 x 25.4 cm). The unit weighs 4.5 lbs. (2.0 Kg). This switch is offered at a discount to U.S. government agencies via GSA Schedule GS-35F-0286V. The switch is also available for export.
