Sock n Boots - Interactive Storytelling for Kids and Parents

The book versions of Sock 'n' Boots have found themselves in the hands of many kids around the world. This time, they are being brought to life, in an interactive learning experience for kids to enjoy and develop from.
Allowing parents and their children to work together to read the stories, ask questions, learn to spell, color in the scenes and even help encourage them to express themselves, by letting them to write their own stories using the characters. Sock 'n' Boots for the iPad and iPhone will deliver many hours of enjoyment and usability.
The app comes with the current Sock 'n' Boots stories installed, each one designed to help kids think and learn, by posing questions before and after each story, giving parents a helping hand with discussions about life and morals.
"My goal is to inspire young minds and open the doors to expression and create an avenue to stimulate parent/child bonding through reading," - says D.K Smith, the author and creator of 'Sock n Boots'.
Share - is all about the importance of sharing things with others.
Afraid of the Dark - teaches kids that you don't have to be scared of the night time.
Play it Safe - teaching kids to think about what they are doing when playing so they don't get in danger.
Each of the stories give you the option to read in your own voice or use the in-built narrations, you can even turn on the music to add more atmosphere to the story telling. The pages aren't just about reading the stories either, if a child is curious about something on the page, for example; a house, they can just touch the house and the narrator will tell them what the object is and will even help them to spell it.
D.K Smith and the Sock n Boots series, are hoping to help bridge the gap from traditional book learning to new technology mediums, which are becoming more and more a standard of life.
Sock 'n' Boots will be available on the App Store from Tuesday 25th October.

"I always loved stories as a child and as I grew older I developed a love of creative writing. After having an influx of new-borns brought into my life in 2011 (three nieces and one nephew), I was inspired to combine my two loves (reading stories and creative writing) and use them to do all that I could to see that the young minds of the new additions to my family were stimulated by fun, positive stories" says D.K. Smith. "Thus far the results have been the creation of the two most loveable pieces of footwear around (Sock and his best friend Boots) as the main characters in a new children's book series Sock n Boots," Smith includes.
"The inspiration from the new additions to my life has motivated me to see that all young minds are stimulated and motivated by expression and guess what? I have a new niece/nephew on the way sometime in 2012 so I have another young mind to try and stimulate," states Smith.
