Local Citizens Initiate Global Awakening Movement to Make a Difference in the Lives of Orphaned Children in Africa

The Potters Village: Pilot Program Bringing Sustainable Living to the Children of Ghana.

Pembroke Pines, FL, November 01, 2011 --(PR.com)-- A group of local citizens are bringing hope to the children of Ghana who are living in poverty. UNICEF estimates that there are 1,000,000 orphans in Ghana, and the people of Glorious Being Center have a two-part mission to bring sustainable living to these children. They are creating the Potters Village, a pilot program to build a permanent and safe home for 100 orphans in Ghana (called the Outer Building). The second part of the mission is to provide education through teleseminars via Skype, helping the children shift their consciousness from poverty to abundance and unlimited possibilities (called the Inner Building). The idea is that once this village is fully operational, it will have a positive ripple effect to the surrounding communities.

Glorious Being Center (GBC) is a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) organization founded in 2004 by Rev. Gloria Ramirez, and its main mission is to empower children and women to greatness. GBC has joined forces with other organizations to bring self-sustainable living, known as Permaculture (www.youtube.com/watch?v=lT_2VVXA7SY), to Ghana, and then to other parts of the world. An interesting distinction about the Potters Village project is that they are not simply feeding the children for a few days. Rather, their goal is to provide a self-sustainable home for the children with everything needed to grow their own food and maintain a balanced quality of life. Once the village is set up and running, the residents will be able to support themselves, get an education, and have a chance at a normal life. This unique concept will ensure lifelong success in the lives of the residents, and will serve as a model for other communities.

Several dedicated volunteers from the Glorious Being Center are going to Ghana from November 29th - December 14th to set the project in motion. The people traveling will be: Gloria Ramirez (President), Joy Vodofsky (Vice President), Teree Harrison (Secretary), Agbeko-Kwasi (A.K.) Aheto-Tosu (Chief Information Officer), and Christina Stuart (Photographer). GBC is looking for a videographer and writer to join them on this miraculous trip. Volunteers are welcome and any assistance for this precious cause is greatly appreciated. Join GBC in the Global Awakening Movement and be a part of a project that will bring lasting hope to children who need it the most. Updates on the progress of the project will be available on the web site and in future press releases.
