Workshop with Award-Winning Writer Karen Blomain Scheduled in Santa Fe
Santa Fe, NM, April 22, 2007 --(PR.com)-- BelleCora Press & Workshops offers an early registration discount for its 2007 writing workshop in Santa Fe with award winning poet, novelist, and respected writing instructor Karen Blomain. The workshops titled Personal Writing: Poetry and Memoir is scheduled for October 6-13. Early registration discounts are available through May 15.
Blomain has documented in her work her reaction to all the expected significant life experiences, i.e., birth, death, marriage, divorce. She has just as skillfully created images of universal topics and international events with the subtle hand of a poet and an observer. Her poetry, found in four published volumes and numerous anthologies and literary journals, runs from whimsical verse to deep observation. She is the author of the novel A Trick of Light and has published numerous essays. Most proud of her work guiding other writers, Blomain has taught in the Creative and Professional Writing Program at Kutztown University Pennsylvania since 1990 and conducted writing workshops nationwide and internationally.
She most recently added another professional hat to her collection with the successful run of her first work as a playwright. With photographer and playwright Michael Downend, Blomain adapted one of her short stories for the stage. Titled An American Wife the script caught the attention of the theatre community and was produced in Pennsylvania’s Northeast Theatre of Scranton. The production opened to standing room only audiences on March 21 and ran to enthusiastic reviews through April 6.
