PEPID Names Two New Executives
Largest drug data provider now delivers all FDA-approved medications

John D. Aikman has been named the Canadian managing director, and Dr. Farhan “CJ” Hameed has taken the role of editorial director.

Aikman has spent his career has spent the past decade helping to build key properties in the Canadian eHealth space, including cma.ca, Canada’s leading professional medical portal. A natural innovator and strong advocate of the power of technology to improve patient care and reduce healthcare costs, John has played a leading role in the creation of advanced elearning platforms and clinical decision support tools for physicians, patient portals (mydoctor.ca) and online health assessment tools (Health & Wellness Companion).
Founded by a Canadian physician, PEPID has been long-established in Canadian emergency department, pharmacies and hospitals. Aikman will further PEPID’s mission in Canada and provide the local expertise and support needed. Aikman is based in PEPID’s Montreal offices.
Dr. Hameed most recently served as a faculty member teaching medical and health information technology, where he focused his research in the area of healthcare informatics and healthcare information systems. Prior to serving as a professor, Dr. Hameed practiced Psychiatry. Dr. Hameed is a member of the American Association for Technology in Psychiatry, Southern Medical Association, American Association of Community Psychiatrists and the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Psychiatry Academy. Hameed is also an active member of the Health Information Management System Society (HIMSS) where he serves on the HIMSS Mobile Initiative Task Force (mHIMSS).
Dr. Hameed is working from the PEPID offices in Phoenix, Arizona.
