Lupica has been selected as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy (“the College”). The Induction Ceremony will be held at the United States Supreme Court Great Hall in March 2012.

Lupica is Counsel to Thompson & Knight’s Corporate Reorganization and Creditors’ Rights Practice Group in the Firm’s New York office. She has more than 20 years of experience and focuses her practice on corporate reorganization, creditors’ rights, and business bankruptcy ethics. She also currently serves as a Maine Law Foundation Professor of Law at the University of Maine School of Law in Portland, Maine, where she teaches bankruptcy law, secured transactions, legal ethics, and mediation and negotiation. She is a trained commercial mediator and regularly provides lawyers and law firms with ethics expert opinions.

Lupica is a frequent speaker and writer on bankruptcy and insolvency matters. She recently authored an in-depth study that was published in the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review and funded by the American Bankruptcy Institute and National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges on the increased cost of bankruptcy for consumers. She serves on the Advisory Board for the American Bankruptcy Institute Law Review and on the Editorial Advisory Board for the Journal of Bankruptcy Law and Practice.

The College was formed in 1989 and is an honorary association of bankruptcy and insolvency professionals. It has approximately 650 Fellows that were selected by a Board of Regents from among recommendations received from the Circuit Admissions Council in each federal judicial circuit.
