Top NBA Players Join All Star Roster for the Damien Wilkins Monster Slam on November 5th at Clark Atlanta University to Benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta
Atlanta Hawks’ Damien Wilkins and a top lineup of NBA players will play in Damien’s Monster Slam Exhibition Game at Clark Atlanta University to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta on Saturday, November 5, 2011.
Atlanta, GA, November 05, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Atlanta Hawks’ Damien Wilkins will bring together an all-star lineup for his Monster Slam Exhibition Game at Clark Atlanta University, located at 223 James P. Brawley Drive, Atlanta, GA on Saturday November 5, 2011 at 3pm. Rounding out the stellar list of players for the game are recent additions Rudy Gay (Grizzlies), MarShon Brooks (Nets), Travis Leslie (Clippers) and Solomon Jones (Pacers). All of the proceeds from the pro style exhibition game will support the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta.
As the lockout continues with no deal in sight, Wilkins decided to organize the game to give Atlanta fans a much needed dose of professional basketball. The level of the players’ commitment to the fans and surrounding community is evident in the overwhelming response to Damien’s invitation. The players understand the void fans feel as a result of the ongoing dispute and are taking action to fill it through exhibition games. “You don’t have to wait until the season to see NBA-caliber ball,” said the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s Hawks’ columnist, Michael Cunningham.
Other participating players include Anthony Morrow (Nets), Chris Wilcox (Pistons), Derrick Favors (Jazz), DJ White (Bobcats), James Harden (Thunder), Jarrett Jack (Hornets), Jeff Green (Celtics), Jeff Teague (Hawks), Joe Johnson (Hawks), Jonny Flynn (Rockets), Jordan Crawford (Wizards), Josh Smith (Hawks), Lou Williams (76er’s), Mike Beasley (Timberwolves), Shannon Brown (Lakers) and Trey Thompkins (Clippers).
The Monster Slam will kick off at 1pm with a free pregame Fan Fest with Monster DJ’s spinning hits, contests, photos and free haircuts for kids by Celebrity barber Bobby Henderson of Bobby’s World. 288 Entertainment’s newest R&B artist known as the Diva of Urban Pop Soul, Karmella Daniel will perform the National Anthem, while Ludacris’ breakout R&B group “Untitled,” who recently wowed fans at Luda Day, will give a special halftime performance. Celebrity coaches include two-time Grammy nominated producer, Drumma Boy and Atlanta’s favorite Housewife NeNe Leakes. Advance tickets are strongly suggested as the game is expected to sell out.
