TyRon Jackson to Run in Tustin's Dinosaur Dash 11/06/2011
Tustin, CA, November 01, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Community leader, TyRon Jackson, is registered to run in the 21st annual Dinosaur Dash in Tustin. This event will benefit the non-profit Tustin Public Schools Foundation (www.tpsf.net). The run is scheduled Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 9:30 AM at The Market Place in Tustin.
His first time participating in the Dinosaur Dash in 16 years, Mr. Jackson views the event as a way to not only benefit Tustin Public Schools, but to bring awareness to the community and get more people involved. As a Behavioral Interventionist working with children with special needs, local students decided to participate as well once they became aware that Mr. Jackson was registered.
"This is a great way to get the community involved in their kids' schools," said Mr. Jackson. "Also, it's a great way for me to prepare for my Thanksgiving Day event."
Mr. Jackson is organizing his second annual Thanksgiving Spectacular at Hometown Buffet on Thursday, November 24th 2011 in Santa CA, and will host & serve Thanksgiving dinner, with all the trimmings, to over 100 troubled teens & their families, Men & Women with HIV/AIDS, and other people in need. Crowned the first Mr. Gay Orange County in 2010, Tyron Jackson, a longtime resident of Orange County, has also organized numerous events for the community, including food and clothing drives, community rally’s, and support for deployed US Troops, at-risk youth, and families in need. An accomplished performer, Tyron Jackson demonstrates his willingness to serve his community and encourages others to do the same.
Said Tyron Jackson, “The way I see it, being crowned (Mr. Gay Orange County) has been a way to really let the community know that we can come together for a great purpose. Gay, straight, elderly, youth - it doesn’t matter. Together we can, together we will bring unity back in the community.”
Tyron Jackson has also contributed to the gay community of Orange County. “Awareness has been one of my main focuses. There is obviously a presence of the gay community here in Orange County, and it’s one thing to say ‘hey, we’re here.’ The truth of the matter is, I feel helping the community begins with everyone coming together. The events and benefits that I have been a part of is to bring everyone together for a common purpose - tear down those walls, let guards down, and let’s all come together to help those that need it most...”
