Raisonance Joins NFC Forum as Associate Member
Raisonance Promotes technologies for end-to-end certification of NFC mobile handsets and evolution of test standards.
Montbonnot, France, November 08, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Raisonance, a leading supplier of tools used in designing and testing NFC components, has joined the NFC Forum to promote NFC test solutions and the evolution of related testing technologies. The NFC Forum, the global advocacy group for Near Field Communication (NFC), is dedicated to advancing NFC technologies, educating the public about its benefits and furthering its implementation around the world. This includes promotion of standards for the validation and future certification of NFC components, systems and software.
Over the past four years, Raisonance has fielded hardware/software solutions used by component manufacturers and integrators in the conception of NFC devices and systems. This has included complete solutions for end-to-end testing of NFC mobile phones, which can include both contactless and contact smart card interfaces. "In our initial phase of NFC support our focus was on providing exhaustive support of NFC related protocols. With our existing technologies for signal emulation and analysis of these protocols, it is only natural that we continue the promotion and evolution of our tools in partnership with NFC Forum," stated Benoit Hedou, CEO and Smart card Activity Director at Raisonance.
Raisonance currently provides a complete range of tools for interoperability verification and validation of NFC systems. ProxiSPY and ContactLAB together offer spy and protocol analysis for full visibility of contact and contactless communications in NFC mobile phones. Whereas emulation tools, ProxiLAB and ContactLAB simulate signals that use NFC relevant protocols in order to test NFC implementation. ProxiLAB and ContactLAB now offer capabilities for concurrent and automated testing that are already being implemented by laboratories, which will certify NFC capable products such as mobile phones, smart cards, tags and card readers. These tools are used in conjunction with NFC Forum standard test probes and third-party test suites which will soon reach the market.
"With the fielding of NFC, standards compliance and certification are crucial to large scale implementation of NFC. Working with NFC Forum on the promotion and evolution of NFC standards is the one way that Raisonance can contribute to the success of NFC," said Benoit Hedou. "Immediately, this means ensuring the availability of NFC Forum standard compliant test equipment. However, it also implies contributing to standards in order to address future requirements, such as evolutions to protocols or unification of competing standards to promote global interoperability."
The NFC Forum’s corporate members include both product and services firms: companies from the mobile communications, consumer electronics, chip manufacturing, computing, media and entertainment and telecom and payment services sectors. The Forum carries out its work primarily through focused working groups of members covering its various areas of interest, and it promotes the adoption of NFC through open specification development, interoperability testing and compliance facilities, and by publicizing the value of NFC-enabled products and services.
