Colorful Paint Out Exhibit at Lavender Moon Gallery
Lavender Moon Gallery is hosting an art exhibit by members of Plein Air Painters of Hawaii. “Plein Air” painting is characterized by painting outdoors; capturing the freshness and spontaneity of natural light. The exhibit is the result of Plein Air artists from the Big Island, Maui, Kauai and the Mainland, coming together for a four-day “paint out.”
Kealakekua, HI, November 09, 2011 --(PR.com)-- “A paint out is a chance for artists to paint together, exchange ideas and learn from the collective spirit of the group,” explains PAPOH Founder and President, Jan Bushart. “We all show up at the same location and no two artists end up painting the same scene in the same way.”
Big Island artists Lori Hight, Leslie Sears, Tom Yessis, Mary Sky Schoolcraft, Denise Ulrich, Sita Soesman, Arthur Johnsen, Tuko Fujisaki, Diane Renchler, Cosette Noll, Robert Weiss; Maui artists Jan Bushart, Susan Conway Kean, Debbie von Tempsky, Virginia Pierce; Kauai artist Kyoko Ishigami along with Matt Montagne from Jackson, WY, Karen Scarborough of Ben Lomand, CA, and Carole Sarra of Chico, CA, will be participating.
The paint out begins Thursday at 9:30 am at Anaeho’omalu Bay with a demo by well-known Big Island artist, Darrell Hill. Various morning locations include: Thursday Nov 10th Anaeho’omalu Beach (in the Waikoloa area), Friday Nov 11th Kaloko/Honokohau National Historic Park/ Harbor, Saturday, Nov 12th Village of Holualoa, Sunday Nov 13th Kailua-Kona town. The culmination of the paint out will be a very fresh art exhibit at Lavender Moon Gallery in Kainaliu featuring the best work of each artist created during the three days prior to the show. This is a Special Art Event as the paintings will be on display and available for purchase one day only, Saturday, Nov. 12 from 4 – 7 pm.
