Pure and Noble Inc. Launches OpinCity, a Smartphone App for Locals

Waterloo based software startup Pure and Noble Inc. officially launches it’s first smartphone application in the Canadian tech triangle and their hometown of Waterloo Region.

Waterloo, Canada, November 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- OpinCity is an app designed for locals to better discover their city. It’s a location based service (LBS) app that uses the GPS on your iOS and Android device to deliver time sensitive, and close-by results. It may be a concert, a Tuesday night wing special, or a neighbours snowblower for sale. The user is in control of the things they see, and it’s always around the corner.

The app will be available for download in Apple Inc.’s Canadian App Store starting Wednesday November 9, 2011 with Google’s Android Market following shortly after. “We’re launching with focused efforts in Kitchener Waterloo, with other major cities to follow,” said Chief Marketing Officer, Joshua Hofstetter.

What sets OpinCity apart is the relevancy of the results. Different results appear based on where you are in the city and what time of day you’re browsing OpinCity. You can easily filter out categories you don’t care about, and can choose to narrow down results within a 1km radius from where you are at any given time.

“OpinCity is all about discovering what locals are sharing about your city. It’s for locals, shared by locals. We are launching the app in Waterloo Region first because we’re residents here ourselves, and it’s a very diverse test market,” says Ed Wei, Chief Executive Officer of Pure and Noble Inc.
