2012-2013 Grant Applications Available Through Susan G. Komen South Dakota

Sioux Falls, SD, November 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Funding Available in 2012 through South Dakota Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The South Dakota Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is proud to announce the availability of grant funds for fiscal year 2012. Applications for breast cancer and breast health programs from nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions in South Dakota are eligible for funding.

The promise of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for everyone and energizing science to find the cure. In the past five years, the South Dakota Komen Affiliate collectively granted more than $850,000 to support non-duplicative breast health and breast cancer outreach projects in communities throughout the state. In 2011 Komen South Dakota provided nearly $150,000 in grant funds to organizations throughout South Dakota. Komen grant funds have supported mammograms for under-insured women, educational programs, mammography services for Native American and Hutterite women, complementary therapy for breast cancer patients and programs that support breast cancer survivors.

Applications must be submitted by e-mail (info@komensouthdakota.org) and must be received by 5:00 p.m. on December 31, 2011. DO NOT MAIL applications, hard copies will not be accepted. The South Dakota Affiliate’s grant cycle runs from April 1, 2012 through March 31, 2013. Announcements of funding will be made in March 2012.
