Buffalo, Wyo., Company Makes Top 21 List for Federal Oil Spill Response
LBI Renewable’s bioremediation product, DUALZORB, was recently listed as one of 21 products to meet Environmental Protection Agency requirements for use in emergency oil spill response.
Buffalo, WY, November 10, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Buffalo, Wyo.,-based company, which manufactures natural sorbants and bioremediation agents, satisfied the requirements of the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan (NCP). The NCP governs the use of agents used in responding to oil spills on waterways or other natural resources belonging to or managed by the federal government.
Being placed on the NCP list allows LBI’s product to remain in the environment after clean up of an oil spill on federal and state lands. Current methods of site clean-up require the complete removal of contaminated soil for treatment, disturbing ecosystems and natural resources. Their product achieves the same level of clean-up without disturbing the ecosystem.
“Our product is made wholly from beetle kill trees making it an environmentally responsible solution for oil spill remediation,” said Shelly St Pierre, owner and chief financial officer of LBI. “With the energy industry drilling on federal and state lands, having a product like ours provides companies with a cost effective and natural means of doing business while leaving a site in better condition than traditional methods. We like to say we’re cleaning the environment with the environment.”
LBI Renewable was initially founded in 2007 as Little Bits, Inc., a cat litter company that manufactured a 100 percent natural pellet made from beetle killed trees. The product was found to be effective in cleaning oil spills and later changed direction to focus on industrial spill absorbants.
After extensive testing and product development all LBI products are patent pending.
LBI Renewable is a community oriented company that offers customized solutions to many industries ranging from small shops to large scale soil contamination. LBI Renewable focuses on “Cleaning the environment with the environment” within the oil and gas industry.
EPA Disclaimer:
DUALZORB is on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s NCP Product Schedule. This listing does NOT mean that EPA approves, recommends, licenses, certifies, or authorizes the use of DUALZORB on an oil discharge. This listing means only that data have been submitted to EPA as required by subpart J of the National Contingency Plan, 40 CFR Section 300.915.
