Davis Brothers Buy Historic Happy Hocker Pawn Shop
Adam and Josh, Owners of Gold N Connection Pawn Shops, purchased the historic and iconic Happy Hocker Pawn Shop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Fort Lauderdale, FL, November 11, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On November 7th, brothers Josh and Adam Davis purchased the historic and iconic Happy Hocker Pawn Shop located at 4525 NW 8th Ave in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After opening its doors in 1979, The Happy Hocker soon became one of the most well known pawn shops in South Florida. It was also the birthplace of Comp-U-Pawn, today’s most highly regarded pawn shop software.
When Josh and Adam arrived in South Florida 3 years ago, they were intent on opening a successful chain of pawnshops. In that time they have worked hard to open 5 highly-regarded pawnshops in Broward County.
When the Davis Brothers announced that their company, Gold N Connection, was purchasing one of South Florida’s most iconic pawnshops, nobody was surprised. On the same day they also launched their new and improved website www.GNCPawn.com and revealed their rebranding as GNC Pawn. “We’ve been expanding at a nice rate so far, when this opportunity presented itself we jumped on it”, said Adam, “we’ve had our eyes on this location for a while. Its high visibility makes it an excellent addition to our locations for attracting new clientele.”
Since it opened in 1979, the Happy Hocker has been a fixture in South Florida. The large yellow sign along I-95 has always been hard to miss. Even if you have never been in a pawnshop before, you know where the Happy Hocker is located. “The location is phenomenal,” says Josh, ”we’re very excited to meet all of our new customers!”
The company and staff pride themselves in treating their customers like family. It is this customer service oriented approach that has made them stand out from their competitors. “We give more, and charge less” has become something of a company motto. Customers of the Happy Hocker will be pleased with the changes the Davis brothers bring to each pawnshop they acquire. “Our goal is to create a retail atmosphere in the pawnshop that is neat, clean, orderly, and friendly,” says Adam.
The days of dusty shops with ancient merchandise, surly employees, and poor attitudes are gone. GNC Pawn looks forward to the future of the industry, and their newest location will be its biggest example yet. The brothers plan on bringing their years of experience, and extensive knowledge of the industry to improving their newest acquisition. They both attribute the majority of their knowledge and success to the tutelage of their father, Jeff, who has been a pawn industry veteran for 35 years. Both brothers continue to work closely with their father Jeff, as he continues to offer knowledge and inspiration to their growing company.
GNC Pawn plans on bringing the Florida Pawn scene to new levels. You can find them on Twitter, Ebay, Facebook, Craigslist, and even Youtube. Their state of the art website offers customers additional ways to stay in touch with their pawnbroker; they can see their transactions online, submit their wish for items they wish to buy, and see what’s new in stock.
It’s great to see young faces modernizing and progressing this ancient industry. If you are in need of financial help, you want your lender to make your situation better. It is obvious that the Davis Brothers and their staff are working hard to make sure that is always the case. “Our customers are our business,” says Adam, “without them we are nothing.”
