Axceleon to Present at HP Cast 17: Opportunities and Challenges for Image Processing on the Cloud
This year Axceleon will present the latest topic of the year, “Opportunities and Challenges for Image Processing on the Cloud” at HP CAST 17 in Seattle Washington.
Huntington Beach, CA, November 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Axceleon presents at HP-CAST 17 (Hewlett-Packard Consortium for Advanced Scientific and Technical computing users group) in Seattle, Washington, on November 10th-11th. HP-CAST is being held in conjunction with the SC2011 supercomputing show also being held in Seattle.
The topic of the Axceleon presentation is “Opportunities and Challenges for Image Processing on the Cloud.” Cloud based computing has been used in many industries over the years and is now rapidly expanding to the 3D Animation Industry.
“We are very pleased to be invited for a third time to present at HP-CAST. HP and Axceleon have had a close relationship since 2002 with many mutual deployments around the globe. The role of the “cloud” is expanding quickly in the image processing arena. Cloud based rendering is being actively deployed by 3D animation companies large and small and provides a very cost effective, flexible solution for image processing and rendering,” said Michael Duffy, President and COO of Axceleon. “Axceleon has over 10 years of experience and expertise working in larger private cloud environments and first deployed CloudFuzion in public clouds in 2008. We were the first to announce the ability to build complete clusters for image processing and rendering in the cloud in less than 5 minutes using CloudFuzion,” commented Michael Duffy.
CloudFuzion is integrated with applications such as Autodesk Maya, 3dsMax, Softimage, Adobe After Effects, Cinema 4D and allows launching of image renders from the application directly to any cloud based render farm anywhere in the world. CloudFuzion will move the scene, including any attributes or references, from the studio data repository to the cloud based render farm and in turn will move the resulting rendered images back to the studio data repository as part of an automated workflow. The animator or artist is oblivious as to where the images are being processed or rendered.
CloudFuzion is a workflow automation solution for media & entertainment; no render wrangler required, color coded job & run status, a simple self-service user interface and also supports split frame/tiling and stitching of large 3dsMax and Maya images for further render acceleration. CloudFuzion also has the ability to manage individual processors or cores to maximize any 3D application’s core usage by machine. This enhances the speed of processing and further improves the time to results, a major productivity tool for 3D animation production pipelines.
