Champion Windows of Denver Raises Awareness, Money for BBB Scholarship Fund
Fun Facebook challenge garners $670.00 for deserving high school seniors in need of financial aid.
Denver, CO, November 12, 2011 --(PR.com)-- As members of the BBB of Denver/Boulder, Champion Windows realized that the BBB Foundation's "BBB Student of Integrity Scholarship Fund" was an opportunity to support a good cause through an important organization and make more people aware of the fund using social media. The scholarship is given each year to deserving high school seniors in need of financial aid to continue their education in Colorado. As the division manager of a large showroom and factory, Paul Bonow realized how important it is to have an educated work force at all levels of a company. “As a father, I also know how important it is for young people to face a future of limitless possibilities,” said Paul.
The Facebook Challenge was conceived at a BBB Nights Mixer at the Denver showroom of Champion Windows in September. “We were talking to some BBB folks and the subject of the BBB Foundation Scholarship came up,” continues Paul. Based on that conversation, Champion of Denver decided to pledge $500 to the BBB Scholarship Fund and came up with a fun way to add more money to the pot. For the month of October, every new “like” on Champion’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ChampionWindowDenver meant an additional $5.00 donation.
At the Denver/Boulder BBB Torch Awards luncheon, where Champion Windows was honored to receive the coveted award in the large business category, Paul Bonow had the opportunity to see three deserving students receive scholarships. “It reinforced how important this scholarship is,” Paul remarked, “I’m really glad Champion and its Facebook fans could help toward this worthy endeavor.”
