Park Circle Teams Up to Raise Money for Prostate Cancer & Men’s Health Research and Awareness
Local Businesses Participate in International MOVEMBER Fundraiser.
Charleston, SC, November 15, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Local restaurants in the Olde Historic village have teamed up to raise money for men’s health and awareness with the Movember Campaign. Madra Rua Iirish Pub held the opening “Shave it off” event on November 5th, the newly open D.I.G held an event on November 12th, Cork Neighborhood Bistro will host the Bro Roast on the 19th and The Mill will have an event on the 28th. Local restaurants and business have been selling paper mustaches for $1 to raise additional funds.
Saturday November 19th 3 – 7PM “Bro Roast for the MO’s”
Where: Cork neighborhood Bistro Cost: $25 Cash Donations
Includes all you can eat oysters, beer from holy City Brewing, Miller High Life, & PBR. Canyon Road Winery Wines. Live Music with Sturlin “The Stew” Richards, Local Singer & Songwriter – Sean Austin Leonard and National Touring Artist Lizzy Pitch (she will also perform again @ 9PM). Local rentals company Eventworks has provided a large tent for the event and everyone must where a mustache to attend.
About The Campaign
During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces, in the US and around the world. With their Mo’s, these men raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. The Movember Effect: Awareness & Education, Survivorship, ResearchThe funds raised in the US support prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. The funds raised are directed to programs run directly by Movember and our men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Together, the three channels work together to ensure that Movember funds are supporting a broad range of innovative, world-class programs in line with our strategic goals in the areas of awareness and education, survivorship and research.
