Harrison College Announces Scholarships Available for High School Students
Scholarship Opportunities Open to All High School Seniors Graduating by June 2012
Indianapolis, IN, November 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Jason Konesco, president of Harrison College (http://www.harrison.edu), has announced that the College is accepting applications from high school students for four available scholarships until Dec. 31. Open to all high school seniors graduating by June 2012, these opportunities include one full tuition to be applied to a Harrison College associate degree, one half tuition scholarship for an associate degree, and two $2,500 scholarships to be applied to the recipient’s tuition. Applicants must submit a 500-word essay describing “Why you are a career focused and success driven student,” one letter of recommendation from a school or work reference (i.e. teacher, coach, manager, counselor), and one letter of recommendation from a relative (i.e. parent, guardian, sibling, grandparent, aunt/uncle, etc.) for consideration.
After the Harrison College Scholarship Committee determines the top four finalists, all will be video interviewed, and those videos along with the essays will be posted on Harrison College’s social media channels for voting by the public. After the conclusion of voting on March 31, 2012, the Harrison College Scholarship Committee will determine the award winners based on each candidate’s number of votes from all social media sources. The applicant with the most votes will receive the full tuition scholarship, the second-highest vote-getter will receive the half tuition scholarship, and the other applicants will receive the $2,500 scholarships. - For the full and half tuitions, the dollar amount awarded will be determined by the Harrison College tuition schedule of the recipients’ enrolled program.
- The award is to be divided evenly over each term of the student’s enrollment until the award is fully distributed.
- Students may only apply once, and awards are not eligible for renewal.
- Any student who withdraws, or changes to an ineligible program of study, automatically forfeits any remaining scholarship funds.
- The scholarships may be used for Harrison College’s summer or fall term.
