About Ajita Perera

Ajita Perera is responsible for all marketing activities at the state-chartered Marlborough Economic Development Corporation. MEDC promotes and implements initiatives for business and industrial expansion in the city of Marlborough, Massachusetts. Ms. Perera has over 25 years of experience in television and print journalism and is a marketing and communications specialist. She is responsible for rebranding the company in 2010 and directed the design of a new logo. She administers all aspects of the company website and leads business outreach activities. Before joining MEDC, Ms. Perera co-founded The New England Job Show, a community access TV program for and by job seekers. She trained volunteer members and designed much of the program. Prior to moving to the United States, Ms. Perera was a television producer, director and anchor for a national TV station in Sri Lanka and was one of the country’s first reporters for CNN World Report. Ms. Perera was honored with two national awards for her contribution to media in Sri Lanka. Ms. Perera attended the University of Geneva and the University of Colombo. In her free time she enjoys gardening and travel.
