Who Will Win the Title of Adelphi Apprentice?
Garden City, NY, November 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Adelphi University is happy to announce that this year’s Annual Business Conference for High School Students will again be formatted to mirror the popular NBC show, The Apprentice. Long Island high schools are encouraged to nominate their students to participate in the Adelphi Apprentice, at which students will enjoy a fun, hands-on, interactive learning experience through a detailed conference format. Hosted by the School of Business, the Adelphi Apprentice will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Ruth S. Harley University Center, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY.
The students are placed in teams upon arrival in order to ensure that each team is made up of a diverse group of students from different schools. Working with Adelphi’s expert business faculty, students will learn essential and relevant marketing components including the four P’s (Product, Price, Promotion, and Place) and how to successfully develop a marketing plan. They’ll have the opportunity to test their newly learned skills as they work collaboratively in their teams in order to develop a marketing plan based on a sample case assignment. After developing the plan and striving to meet certain criteria, the teams will then present their marketing plan to a team of judges, who will serve as Donald Trump. The team that proves to have the most successful marketing plan will be awarded the coveted title of Adelphi Apprentice.
Last year, Adelphi’s Business Conference had over 200 participating students from over 25 different schools. This is the third year Adelphi will be holding the Adelphi Apprentice.
The deadline for registration is Wednesday, November 23, 2011. For more information about the Adelphi Apprentice, contact Tom Luberto at (516) 877-3058 or tluberto@adelphi.edu. For more information regarding Adelphi University’s School of Business, please visit http://business.adelphi.edu/
