Rochester, NY, November 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Rochester Chef Gives Back on Veteran’s Day

Chef Ellen Adams from “A Red Hot Dish…and Great Food Too” in Rochester, NY volunteered her time on Veteran’s Day to cook in Times Square! Chef Ellen volunteers with the non-profit group “Cooking with the Troops” (CWTT) and specializes in preparing healthy meals for wounded military members and their families. This Veteran’s Day, Chef Ellen and other volunteers with CWTT, spent the day at the NASDAQ site in NYC cooking breakfast for a newly engaged soldier who proposed to his girlfriend in Times Square and doing cooking demos for military members and their families.

Chef Ellen is an Air Force veteran who used her GI Bill to attend culinary school. She is a certified personal chef in Webster, NY and the owner of “A Red Hot Dish…and Great Food Too.” Chef Ellen believes that we all need to give back to our communities if we are able. “Since I was able to have a second career due to the GI Bill, I think it is only fitting that I use my new skills to teach healthy cooking techniques to wounded service members and their families, so they can learn to become independent again.”
