BlooperBox Launches Funny Home Video Contest on 11/21/2011
BlooperBox will be releasing it's web based funny home videos contest next Monday on 11/21/2011.
St. Louis, MO, November 17, 2011 --(PR.com)-- On July 23, 2011, Phil Novara called his partner Brad Hogan to pitch the idea of BlooperBox – known as “The Internet’s funniest home videos contest.” The partners knew television shows had been widely successful using funny home videos to attract audiences for years. Could an Internet version share the same success? Brad was instantly sold on the concept and BlooperBox was born.
BlooperBox will feature 5 user submitted videos that people can vote for every week. The video with the most votes at weekend takes the money. Then a new contest will start the following week.
Brad and Phil had been interested in creating a video based website for 3 months before creating the idea for BlooperBox. According to Nielsen Wire, online video consumption is up 45% in 2011, and the partners want to capitalize on that trend. They believe as more eyeballs shift online in 2012 that online video consumption will continue to substantially rise.
Phil explained “We want to create something entertaining, have some laughs, and give away prizes along the way.” “It’s really a fun project, and people are excited about the videos” says Brad. So far BlooperBox has 239 video contestants and that number keeps climbing every day. The partners plan to offer a “Sponsor the Contest” program to local and nationwide advertisers to support the website.
The first contest is set to air on Monday 11/21 at 12:00am. If you’re interested in learning more about BlooperBox or entering the contest - visit http://www.blooperbox.com and sign up.
