About Qigong:
Qigong (pronounced “chee-gong”) is a form of complementary or alternative medicine and part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Qigong is a powerful, thousands-of-years-old system of healing that originated in China. It is the art and science of using breathing techniques, gentle movement and meditation to strengthen and circulate the life energy or qi (pronounced “chee”). Qigong promotes better health, vitality and a calmer state of mind and is suitable for both young and old. Its dynamic and gentle techniques can be practiced standing or sitting--even lying down, if necessary. It can be used for individual needs, which makes it an ideal aid to recovery from illness or injury.
Five Branches University, host of this extraordinary event featuring Dr. Chow, is a nationally accredited, private, not-for-profit Graduate School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Five Branches University offers both Master’s and Doctoral level programs in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and certificate programs in Medical Qigong, Asian Bodywork, and more.
