Cheryl D & Company Grand Opens New Showroom in LaGrange
Celebrates 20th Anniversary with new showroom geared toward today’s clientele.
La Grange, IL, November 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- How many kitchen and bath showrooms can boast a disco ball suspended from the ceiling? Or cabinet knobs with cartwheeled people figures? Or a “Word Wall” with “Things one does in a kitchen?”
Cheryl Daugvila will bet there are none. Cheryl Daugvila or “Cheryl D.” as she is best known, has taken cabinetry and design to an entirely new level which is evident in her new showroom. After having to vacate her showroom of 17 years for the extensive build-out process that took nearly a year, she has grand opened her doors with a show-stopping, showroom in downtown LaGrange in honor of her firm’s 20th anniversary.
The disco ball and embellished knobs are only the tip of the iceberg in this new showroom, which features clustered design vignettes.
“It was time for an update to our showroom to make it more relevant to today’s clientele,” said Daugvila. “We brightened things up by utilizing the natural light available combined with a more efficient lighting system that shows off these incredible displays. Visitors will enjoy the positive energy when they enter the showroom and tour the functional layouts, eye catching display elements and innovative new products available. And our smaller showroom space means less overhead, which translates into better pricing and savings that we can pass on to our customers.”
The new Cheryl D. and Company showroom recently enjoyed grand opening festivities at 1 W. Harris Ave. in La Grange and has earned rave reviews from visitors, clients, residents, and industry professionals alike.
The showroom is loaded with 14 fresh, new user-friendly displays and vignettes – including three kitchen displays; a French antique powder room with a Venetian plaster wall treatment; a country mudroom featuring Brookhaven cabinetry; and a reception area sporting smoky pearwood. An elevated, library paneled office is richly detailed with Hollywood mirrors and eco friendly Lyptus wood that is custom stained in vibrant fuscia with silver heirloom glazing. The modernized showroom also displays hundreds of kitchen and cabinetry project photos through a window monitor visible to passers by and on a 100-foot screen in an open conference area. Smart Home Technology; where homeowners can control their electronics, heat and lighting systems remotely; is also available and demonstrated throughout the showroom.
Cheryl D. and Company carries three lines of cabinetry: Custom Wood-Mode and semi-custom Brookhaven, two of America’s leading makes of fine cabinetry, as well as Mr. D Cabinetry, the custom house line offered exclusively by Cheryl’s husband Marius.
“We also showcase a wider array of green and sustainable products than ever before,” she said. “In fact, the Wood-Mode and Brookhaven lines we carry have committed to sound environmentally-protective policies and practices in manufacturing their cabinetry for over 65 years.”
In addition, other environmentally-friendly products include Marmoleum (a certified sustainable, retro vinyl-type flooring choice), Plyboo (a bamboo and plywood hybrid product ideal for countertops and other applications), low VOC paints, water-based finishes, Kangan water filtration systems and low-formaldehyde cabinetry.
“As designers, we feel strongly that your home should reflect your dreams, interests, and personality. That’s why we work closely with clients to create living spaces that are unique and distinctive and which incorporate design possibilities that are as boundless as one’s imagination,” said Daugvila.
Daugvila credits her talented and experienced staff with helping her company reach the 20-year milestone. Her team consists of Gail Gill (Daugvila’s office manager the last 12 years); Heidi Gehrke (designer for the last four years); and design assistant Kristina Burokas. Marius Daugvila, Cheryl’s husband—who, like Cheryl has an impressive background in industrial design—runs the custom millwork shop and personally builds many one-of-a-kind cabinet and furniture pieces ordered by clients. His custom work is evident throughout the new showroom.
Daugvila and crew are also known for handling special requests and challenging projects besides kitchens & baths, including the creation of an original custom built golf ball case for a collection of 500 golf balls; a “pop out” office for a client who wanted to hide his work area—complete with space for his typewriter and computer; and implementing false bottoms in cabinetry or hidden safes inside the cabinetry.
Cheryl D & Company Ltd. is located at 1 W. Harris Ave. in LaGrange. Showroom hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and other times by appointment only. For more details, phone (708) 579-5879 or visit www.cheryld.com.
