Comprehensive Hospice and Palliative Care is now Medicare A and B Certified.
Comprehensive Hospice and Palliative Care (CHPC) is pleased to announce that effective October 5, 2011, CHPC has been granted its’ Medicare A and B licenses. CHPC recently obtained the coveted Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) certification. As a “gold standard” in Hospice certifications, the CHAP accreditation confirmed that Comprehensive Hospice and Palliative Care is a solid organization with a strong commitment to serving its patients.
Comprehensive Hospice and Palliative Care, along with Dr. Kenneth Pettit, were recently featured in the Ahwatukee Foothills News and the East Valley Tribune. The article discusses Dr. Pettit’s involvement in the medical industry, and centers on his two new operations: Comprehensive Hospice and Palliative Care and Comprehensive Staffing Solutions.
In the article, Dr. Pettit says, "In our world we're going to do everything we can to let the patient have the best experience they can have," Pettit said. "I don't want to rule the world I just want to help the people we come in contact with. We feel that we have a good team in place. We feel that we are going to give the best care that we can give." The CHPC ownership team includes Dr. Pettit, Charlotte Igo (RN, BSN, MHA), Peggy Orenstein (RN), Jon Chandler (RN, MBA), and Chris Pfund (PHR, MBA). CHPC is a true doctor/nurse run organization.
Comprehensive Staffing Solutions, headed by Dr. Pettit, Chris Pfund and Charlotte Igo, is a new Professional Employment Organization, or PEO. In the same article, Charlotte says, "I wanted to be a nurse for the same reason as many people, to help people. Then I grew up and got involved in the business side of things. I was shocked to find out that a grand majority of doctors and nurses either have no insurance or really poor insurance, and that most medical businesses are mom-and-pop shops…bringing everyone together we essentially co-employ whomever it is, including themselves. They get the corporate support system, but they can run their own business."
Dr. Pettit, who also owns Comprehensive Family Care, Desert Ridge Urgent Care Centers (Kyrene and Maricopa locations), and Luminescence, is dedicated to serving his patients. The company phrase, “Hospice, it’s about living, too” is the key to their growing success. “Hospice is not just about the end of life, it’s about making the most out of the time you have…time to visit with family and friends or eat a good ice cream sundae in your own home without pain. That is what is important about how we do hospice,” Dr. Pettit says.
Comprehensive Hospice and Palliative Care is also pioneering a new palliative care program that focuses on patients that are not yet hospice appropriate, but are in desperate need of pain control and other comfort measures. Palliative care is focused on relieving and preventing patient suffering from both curable illnesses and chronic diseases.
The Comprehensive Hospice and Palliative Care dedicated team will ensure that their patients will be able to rest without pain and will offer relief from invasive treatments.
In its holistic approach to hospice and palliative care, Comprehensive is leading the way in addressing the medical, spiritual, and comfort needs of its patients. By comforting patients in their own homes, Comprehensive Hospice and Palliative care hopes to bring relief in the final days to allow the opportunity for that final hug, a wonderful goodbye, or the best ice cream sundae in the world.
