College Dropouts Celebrates End of Semester with “Reading Day Bash”
Tempe, AZ, November 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- College Dropouts is marking the end of the fall semester with a “Reading Day Bash” on Dec. 6.
The Tempe bar, located near the Arizona State University campus, gets the drinking party started with Drinkin’ with Lincoln, made famous by College Dropouts, from 9 p.m. to midnight, music by DJ Flare, and a Winner-Takes-All Beer Pong Tournament.
“It’s been a long semester and it’s time to let off some steam,” said Kevin Jones, owner of College Dropouts. “Our Drinkin’ with Lincoln special, which everyone has tried to duplicate, should do the trick.”
Invented by Jones, Drinkin’ with Lincoln offers penny beers after a $5 cover charge (with college ID) and has been a mainstay at the bar since College Dropouts first opened in 2008.
Another mainstay at College Dropouts is live music, which begins each Thursday night at 10:30 p.m. YouTube sensation Obadiah Parker, known for its cover of Outkast’s “Hey Ya,” headlines Thursday nights at College Dropouts. Before Obadiah Parker, Team Trivia kicks off at 8 p.m.
College Dropouts’ new drink specials include weekday happy hour specials from 4 to 7 p.m. include $5 Running Nakeds, $4 Q Bombs, $3 Long Island Iced Teas, $2 PBRs and $1 off drafts. The bar will have 2-for-1 drink specials on Friday night, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., and a 25 percent discount for industry professionals all day Sundays.
“We specialize in craft beers from Lumber Yard, IPA, Four Peaks, Sleepy Dog, and Red Rover,” said Jones. “We have a lot of great, unique flavors that people should try.”
College Dropouts is conveniently located across the street from ASU’s Sun Devil Stadium so close to Sun Devil Stadium the building rocks every time ASU scores. Given its close proximity to Arizona State University’s Sun Devil Stadium and Wells Fargo Arena, College Dropouts is a first-stop for many Sun Devil fans and college students looking to celebrate.
