Acres of Land Winery Takes Two Medals in National Wine Competition

Wrapping up the 2011 wine competition season, Acres of Land Winery brought home two more medals for their wines, bringing the season’s awards to twenty medals.

Lexington, KY, November 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Acres of Land Winery, in Richmond, Kentucky, was awarded two medals in the American Wine Society’s Commercial Wine Competition held November 8th through 10th in Rochester, New York.

Acres of Land Winery received a silver medal for their Willie Mae’s Blackberry wine, a sweet dessert wine with an intense blackberry flavor. A bronze medal was awarded for the Russell Land Chambourcin reserve, known for its complex flavor profile of dark cherry, spice and herbs.

The judging panel consisted of American Wine Society certified wine judges. These judges are AWS members who have completed three years of wine judge training and have been specifically selected to judge this event. Wines were judged on characteristics such as clarity, color, aroma, mouth-feel, and taste.
