Sun Valley, ID, November 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Families Rediscover Simple Pleasures Sans Texting Plus Save Up to $620 for Family of Four
Far and Away Adventures has scheduled 12 launch dates from late May through mid September 2012 of its iconic six-day/five night Middle Fork of the Salmon River American Safari rafting adventures when adults and children alike can discover their inner Lewis and Clark.
Any two families (at least one adult and one child per family) booking together on the same departure by Dec. 31, 2011, will enjoy 2011 rates and a savings of $160 per adult and $150 per child 18 and under.
Families who would like to arrange an exclusively tailored, private charter also receive the booking discount (if reserved by Dec. 31, 2011) plus a complimentary spot for the group organizer when securing 21 paid spaces.
Set departures for 2012 are May 28, June 6, June 15, June 24, July 2, July 10, Aug. 3, Aug. 11, Aug. 19, Aug. 27, Sept. 6, and Sept. 14. Pricing at 2011 rates is $2590 adult, $2300 child; and at 2012 rates $2750 adult, $2450 child.
Around the campfire, stories of Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce, Lewis and Clark, cowboy poetry and, of course, live music incite families to roast marshmallows, stargaze and surrender to the river’s charms, hostage to a primitive world where electronic devices won’t work. (Steve Lentz, owner of Far and Away Adventures http://www.far-away.com/ assures that emergency and pertinent business contact is always possible via satellite phone).
To make sure that texting-deprived youngsters stay engaged, Far and Away Adventures’ “eco-tainment” staff comes to the fore, providing opportunities for experiences that both immerse and empower in the natural environment. On the first night of each journey, each guest receives a “safari” journal listing the wildlife and flora / fauna to be discovered along the river route.
“Our focus is on placing that passion and curiosity into the hands of trained professionals who love working with children and letting them work their magic with youthful energies,” Lentz notes. At day’s end, children are offered healthy snacks to tide them over to dinner while parents enjoy wine and appetizers.
Far and Away Adventures walks the sustainable talk throughout its programs. While offering the world's most luxurious wilderness whitewater rafting on Idaho's Middle Fork of the Salmon and the Wild and Scenic Bruneau, they do so in a fully sustainable and organic manner with, among others, a leave-no-trace ethic and gourmet meals that are 95 percent organic from locally sourced foods. Health for the environment and for the guest come together daily, with morning yoga and a trained massage therapist on call on every trip.
There’s action enough plying the Class II through IV rapids throughout the day, but for intrepid river rats there’s a fleet of inflatable kayaks and paddle rafts that make every riffle an adventure. Fly fishing outings and hikes can also be arranged.
Encampments rival the safari setting of a Hemingway story with a full service kitchen, luxurious chairs and a dining table set with stoneware, linen, and stemware, illuminated by candlelight and soft lanterns. Tents are furnished with elevated beds, comfy flannel bedding, full size pillows, and carpet under foot. Water for showers is heated by solar.
Far and Away Adventures has been sharing the excitement of paddling with adventuresome guests since 1980. Simply, the wonders of nature and those created by Far and Away Adventures for guests plying these and other privileged waters create a new category for those who seek experiences above and beyond the ordinary. Far and Away Adventures’ guests are moved beyond world-class into a universe where luxury and wilderness blend marvelously together.
