Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County Hosts Walk-in Counseling Clinic Open Houses
This winter Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County (CFSSC) is hosting two open houses at their walk-in counseling clinics located in Alliston and Bradford, Ontario.
Barrie, Canada, November 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The open houses will be held in Alliston on Tuesday December 6th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and in Bradford, on Tuesday December 13th also from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity for the general public and anyone working in the social service sector to meet the CFSSC team. The professional clinic staff will be on hand to provide information on the single-session facilities that are now open to these local communities.
The Alliston clinics run on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the CLASS – CTN building located on 233 Church Street. In Bradford, the clinics operate on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at the Bradford Works Office which can be found at Unit 105-95 Holland Street West.
CFSSC has been successfully operating walk-in clinics in Barrie, Midland and Orillia since 2009. During a walk-in session, which lasts about an hour, a counselor helps an individual, couple or family work through some of life’s toughest challenges. Common issues include: grief and loss, depression and anxiety, life transitions and abuse.
People who have attended CFSSC clinics in other communities have shared that the experience helped them to understand the cause of their problem better, reduce the stress they felt and identify more effective coping strategies for dealing with the issue. One session is often enough to help someone set a course of action, as well as, learn how and where to access other community resources that may be helpful as they move forward.
CFSSC walk-in clinics are open to anyone in Simcoe County and are provided on a sliding fee scale based on household income and family size. Subsidies are made available for those who qualify. This is thanks in part to the charity’s supporters. New donations are always needed for CFSSC to continue to help even more people.
According to Heather Bebb, Executive Director of CFSSC, the charity is “Pleased to announce the launch of these new locations. People come to our walk-in clinics looking for a listening ear and someone to give them hope. We are eager to meet the demand for help in these communities and want to thank Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Toronto, ShareLIfe and the United Way of Greater Simcoe County for making this possible.”
Catholic Family Services of Simcoe County is a Catholic sponsored non-profit charitable organization. In the spirit of hope and compassion, CFSSC together with community partners is committed to providing professional counseling, education and advocacy to heal and strengthen family and individual life.
