New York, NY, November 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- For families in need, the holidays can be an especially difficult time. That is why Rev Carl Keyes' AID for America is proud to be the organizer of the annual Thanksgiving Boxes of Hope effort.

“Our goal for 2011 is to distribute 10,000 complete Thanksgiving meals to families that are going through a challenging time in their lives. The festive meals will be distributed to five cities that have some of the highest unemployment in the country,” says Rev. Carl Keyes, founder of AID for America.

Each year, for the past 22 years, families experiencing economic hardship are able to receive a full Thanksgiving meal, helping them to celebrate the holiday and providing a renewed sense of hope. Each Box of Hope is filled with a 10-12lb turkey, stuffing, gravy, a loaf of bread, 5lbs of potatoes, vegetables, juice, and a pie.

“This program brings hope to families in need during a holiday that should be festive and full of happiness. One box can make all the difference to a family. Tens of thousands of boxes have been delivered over the years,” says Rev. Keyes.

The Boxes of Hope are provided through $30 donations from supporters across the country. Those wishing to donate to Boxes of Hope can donate by going to aidfortheworld.org/secure/.
