New Vista School Appoints Dr. Steven Ballaban to New Position of Head of School
The independent school for students with learning differences, including Asperger’s and Autism, continues its leadership development through action of its Board of Directors.
Laguna Hills, CA, April 27, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The New Vista School Board of Directors announces the appointment of Dr. Steven Ballaban to the new position of Head of School effective today. Dr. Ballaban will be responsible for all facets of the New Vista School program.
“We are fortunate to have and individual of this caliber join our school,” said Greg Brashears, President of the NVS Board. “Steven’s wealth of experience heading independent schools, his life-long commitment to education, and his experience with special education programs were all considerations during our selection process. The appointment of Steven to this position is the logical next step for our Board as we continue to develop an independent non-religious school serving grades 6 through 12.”
Dr. Ballaban has previously served as Head of School at Tarbut V’Torah in Irvine, CA and at The Alfred and Adele Davis Academy in Atlanta, GA. In both positions, he was responsible for development of special education programs alongside the general administrative and development responsibilities necessary in these independent schools. Dr. Ballaban holds a BA from Vassar College, a Ph.D., from Hebrew Union College and has been a Fellow at the Secondary School Leadership Training Institute at the Davidson School of Education.
New Vista School is a WASC-accredited independent school dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing educational environment serving the needs of adolescents in Orange County through small class size, individualized programs, and social skills development. In a caring environment, New Vista School fosters academic achievement and independence through knowledge, self-advocacy, and student success.
