alliantgroup Hosts Fourth Strategic, Tax & Legislative Think Tank in Chicago
Session provides tax reform insights and practical strategies for CPA firms to grow their practices.
Chicago, TX, November 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- alliantgroup, the nation’s premier provider of specialty tax consulting and tax controversy services, recently hosted its fourth Think Tank, which is part of an on-going series of thought leadership events developed to bring added value to their CPA partner firms. The Think Tank brought together several top Washington insiders, IRS executives, and CPA partners from leading firms to discuss and analyze a multitude of prevalent tax issues currently facing middle-market businesses and the nation.
“Small and mid-sized businesses are suffering in this economy, and tax incentives are a way for companies in many industries to recapture needed funds and regain their competitive edge,” said Dhaval Jadav, CEO of alliantgroup. “Through events such as this, our mission is to provide specialist support to our CPA partner firms to help add value to their clients.”
The two-day program featured a variety of tax experts including alliantgroup Vice Chairman and former IRS Commissioner Mark W. Everson; alliantgroup Senior Advisor and former Congressman and Chairman of the IRS Oversight Committee Jim Ramstad; alliantgroup National Managing Director and former Senior Counsel and Tax Advisor to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee Dean Zerbe; alliantgroup Director and former Congressman Rick Lazio; and alliantgroup CEO and co-founder Dhaval Jadav. Attendees were joined by senior IRS executives from the Large Business and International (LB&I) group; and Jeff Pawlow of The Growth Partnership, a consultancy for leading accounting firms.
During the two-day summit, participants discussed the pending federal budget deficit controversy and tax reform, state and local budget challenges, the likelihood of a national sales tax, the IRS’s new emphasis on the middle-market, and in a strategy session, how CPA firms can take a more disciplined approach to maintaining client loyalty.
“The traditional notion of research and development brings patents and lab coats to mind, but R&D is actually defined much more expansively to the benefit of small and medium-sized businesses,” said Dean Zerbe, National Managing Director of alliantgroup. “alliantgroup’s experts are unparalleled in working with CPAs to help their clients obtain R&D credits and other kinds of tax benefits.”
The full Think Tank event recap is available on the alliantgroup website.
