Presque Isle Downs & Casino Sponsoring "Miracle of Giving" Poker Tournament

Erie, PA, November 24, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Presque Isle Downs & Casino is sponsoring the "Miracle of Giving" Poker Tournament Dec. 4th, at 1:30 p.m. in benefit of the Marine Toys For Tots Foundation.

The tournament features a $75 buy-in and each participant who brings in an unwrapped toy will receive an additional 500 chips on top of the 5000 starting chips they will receive for buying into the game. The limit of toys turned in for additional chips will be limited to ten but people are encouraged to bring as many unwrapped toys as they want.

“We are excited to sponsor this event on behalf of the Toys For Tots Foundation,” said Christine Stacy. “We think this is a great way to collect toys for children in need and make a difference.”

The Presque Isle Downs and Casino is dedicated to supporting the community and is sponsoring various charities and fundraisers in the next few months including: Second Harvest, Presents For Patients, Toys For Tots and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

"We have always been and always will be very involved in the community," said Fred Buro, Presque Isle Downs and Casino President.

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community.

Anyone is encouraged to stop by the casino and donate unwrapped toys in the casino’s main or north entrance. There will also be collection tables upstairs in the Downs Clubhouse and Lounge area for the December 4th Miracle of Giving Poker tournament. Toys will be collected from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 pm, prior to the start of the 1:30pm tournament. Registration for the Tournament opens at 11:30 am.
