Cambridge Who's Who Selects Christiane David as Artist of the Year
Lancaster, PA, April 28, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Christiane David, painter and owner of the Christiane David Gallery in Lancaster, PA, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Art. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who is itself an honor, only one member in each discipline is named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee hand picks these special Who's Who honorees based on accomplishments, academic achievement, leadership, and service.
David paints abstract impressionist works in oil, acrylic and watercolors in her studio at the gallery, because she wants the public to witness her creative process. David teaches through private art lessons and group workshops, and gives presentations in her community. The gallery displays her original works as well as prints and note cards.
Before moving to the U.S. in 1985 with her husband and daughter, David studied painting in her native Belgium. She also studied architecture and pursued a career as a designer, having completed coursework at the Brussels Academy of Art and Belgium's School of Architecture. She received much of her early training from disciples of Belgian painter Paul Delvaux. Through contact with fellow European impressionists, David absorbed many techniques to form the foundation of her definitive style. A former member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Club and Harrisburg Art Association and past president of the Berks Art Association, David participates in regional exhibitions, winning awards in Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
