Electro Standards Laboratories Introduces the Model 7271 RJ45 A/B/C/D Switch with Two Methods of Control: Local Push-Button and Remote ASCII Commands
Electro Standards Laboratories designed the Model 7271 to meet the needs of IT Managers who wanted a slim rack-mount 4-position switch that could be easily controlled via push-button or remotely via RS232 ASCII commands.
Cranston, RI, December 02, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The new Model 7271 single channel RJ45 A/B/C/D switch with serial remote control port allows the user the capability of sharing a single port interface device connected to the COMMON port among four other devices connected to the A, B, C and D ports.
The Model 7271 may be controlled locally via a front-panel push-button or remotely from the DB9 remote control port located on the rear panel. The DB9 remote port provides control through RS232 serial commands and allows the user to change the switch position, query the position and lockout status and lockout the front-panel controls. The front-panel LED display indicates the switch position and power status.
The switched RJ45 ports are transparent to all data. There are (5) RJ45 female port connectors on the rear panel labeled for ports A, B, C, D and COMMON and (1) DB9 female Remote connector. All eight signals of the RJ45 interface are switched. For reliability, the Model 7271 maintains its position and signal pathways during a power outage.
The Model 7271 is housed in a slim rack-mount enclosure that measures 19” W x 1.75” H x 8” D (48.3 x 20.3 x 4.4 cm). The switch weighs approximately 4.5 lbs. (2.0 Kg). The attractive anodized black box packaging is EMI/RFI resistant. This switch is available for export. United States government agencies may purchase this switch at a discount via GSA Schedule GS-35F-0286V.
The Model 7271 is shipped complete with a Catalog No. 516682 UL approved 100VAC/240VAC 50/60Hz wall-mount power module that supplies 12 VDC, 500mA to the unit. An optional wide range power module, Catalog No. 517277, is also available. This module is a CE and UL listed table mount unit, 100VAC/240VAC 50/60Hz and is ideal for international applications.
